Our parks are a valuable resource. 

 

Section 4(f) in the U. S. Department of Transportation Act of 1966 requires agencies using federal funds for major impacts to analyze impacts on parks, recreational areas, and historic sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Columbus Park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  IDOT’s proposed Austin Boulevard – Central Avenue Ramps are higher than the berm.  At Barrie Center, the Village of Oak Park has a 2.5-million gallon reservoir under the Tennis Courts.
